Splendid
Why do I wile the day away sad and glum? Why do I hide my smile away cold and numb? As the light slowly slides away there's relief Time is nigh for my bow tie and cane, game show teeth so
I hop in a taxi and sit in the backseat looking all snazzy and sipping champagne I'm newly contented 'cause I'm feeling splendid
So call me Mr. Night Life but please don't say it 'round my wife I ain't got time for high strife Sing and dance and be gay Keep the daylight away
Maybe it's the way that I wear my hat or maybe it's the scooby-doos in my scat Fact of the matter is "I'm all that!"
I'm charming and dapper but what is the capper a talented tapper with style and grace I'm highly befriended 'cause I'm feeling splendid
So call me Mr. Night Life but please don't say it 'round my wife I ain't got time for high strife Sing and dance and be gay Keep the daylight away
